Tim Heinze is a native of Houston, Texas (USA). He received his Bachelor of Arts from Howard Payne University where he met his wife, Molly. The Heinze family moved to China in 2009 and commenced Chinese language studies at Yuxi Normal University.
In 2010, Tim was hired by Hani Coffee Co., Ltd. (Kunming) as the Vice President of Operations for China. After leading the company through several years of successful development and expansion, Tim purchased the company in 2014. At the beginning of 2015, Tim relocated the Hani Coffee Co. headquarters to Pu’er (Yunnan) in order to position the company at the very center of China’s burgeoning coffee industry.
Tim holds international coffee certifications from CQI (Arabica Q-Grader 2014) and the SCAA (Green Buyer L1, Taster L1&L2, Barista L1, Roaster L1&L2, Golden Cup Certification, ). He is also a Specialized Instructor with the Specialty Coffee Association of America. Tim is passionate about specialty coffee in particular and the development of China’s coffee industry in general. He can be found on the farms, at the labs, and in his office.
Alexandra King grew up in the southern oil fields of Texas (USA) . She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from San Angelo State University.
Before relocating to China with her husband, Cameron, in 2015, Alex worked at a Pregnancy Care Center, assisting with event management and communications.
Although still engaged in formal Chinese language studies, Alex manages Hani Coffee Co’s social media campaigns and marketing platforms. Her experience and education in communications bolsters our commitment to providing current and transparent information about our farming partners, product lines and community programs.
Tian Cai is a native of Guangxi Province, relocating to Yunnan in 2005. He met his wife, Yan Mei, in Yunnan’s beautiful, tropical paradise, Xishuangbanna. The Cai family moved to Pu’er in 2015 to join the Hani Coffee Co family.
Tian Cai is responsible for overseeing roasting, packaging, quality control and inventory. His passion for the highest quality local coffees and tweek-perfect roasting are the foundation for ensuring that each customer has the best possible coffee experience.
Tian Cai is certified by the SCAE in Roasting and Barista.
Cameron King is a graduate of San Angelo State University, with an undergraduate degree in International Business.
Cameron’s experience working for Bishop Distributing LLC (international distribution) paired with his heart to see community development in rural areas has been a great match for Hani Coffee Co.
Cameron is still undertaking Chinese language studies and will commence his full-time roll as Business Development Manager upon completion.
Kate Kinahan holds a Bachelor and Master Degree in Chinese law from Nanjing University (China) and a Diploma in International Relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (China). Kate is fluent in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese.
As a foreigner, Kate claims the rare privilege of having officially worked with the Chinese Judicial Organ. Numerous articles have been written about Kate in the mainstream Chinese media. She also receives regular correspondence from academics and business leaders throughout China regarding her published articles.
Joshua Jagelman has served in senior management, leadership, and consulting positions for corporate and not-for-profit organizations in Australia and China since 2002.
Joshua sits on the Board of Directors for numerous private equity companies and NGOs, including Integrity Services Global (P/L), Armstrong Chase Investments (P/L), Golden Resource Developments (P/L) and Just Projects International (501c).
Joshua currently lives “at origin” with his family. He is an SCAA certified Green Coffee Buyer and holds SCAE certification in Sensory and Roasting.
